Setting

The setting does not change at all throughout the play. This corresponds to the title, A Doll’s House, because a typical doll house would be stagnant. All of the manipulation and action occurs in the house, just like in play all of the scenes occur in the one room of the Helmer’s house.  Also the fact that the setting is consistent parallels the actions of Nora. From the beginning of the play, it is clear that Nora is determined to do as she wishes. This mentality remains the same throughout up until she breaks off her marriage to Torvald.
